Plovdiv will host the European Canoe-Kayak Championships for men and women from 14 to 16 July 2017.Such a major competition brings publicity and prestige to the city, especially as it will be broadcast live on Eurosport, according to the Bulgarian Canoe and Kayak Federation. The European Championships are an event for the whole of Plovdiv and will boost the local economy, Nikolay Bukhalov is adamant. He once again highlighted the advantages of the rowing canal, including its location within the city limits.
In 2016, our city also also hosted the European Junior Canoe-Kayak Championships, for which the Federation received high praise for its organisation and delivery from the President of the European Canoe-Kayak Association, Mr Albert Woods, in person.
